The Rebuilding Compass™ · Privacy-First Data Protection

Compass Backup & Restore™

Review the Compass information saved in this browser, create an encrypted backup, or safely inspect an existing backup file. Your saved work remains on this device unless you choose to create and save a backup file.

Read-only safety mode: This version cannot restore, replace, delete, merge, or migrate saved information. Backup restoration will be added only after per-record conflict testing is complete.
Your Backup Password cannot be recovered. Keep it somewhere safe and separate from the backup file. The Rebuilding Compass does not receive your password or the contents of your encrypted backup.
Step 1 · Read-only discovery

Review Saved Compass Records

Scan this browser for approved AI Platform and Divorce Resolution Workspace records. The preview shows keys and classifications—not private answers.

Step 2 · Encrypted backup

Create My Backup

The file preserves each approved record under its exact original key. No stored JSON is rewritten.

The backup uses AES-256-GCM encryption and PBKDF2-HMAC-SHA-256 password derivation. It does not contain your password.

These exact storage keys are shown only for troubleshooting and support. Private answers are never displayed here.

What happens to unknown or historical records?

Recognized historical Financial Accounts records and additional trc_ccr_* records are preserved in a quarantine category. They can be encrypted into the backup, but this page will not transform or restore them. Other unregistered Compass-looking keys are reported but not silently included.

Backup-file inspection · No restoration

Check an Existing Compass Backup

Select a version-1 or version-2 Compass backup and enter its password. The page will decrypt it temporarily in memory, validate it, and compare every included key with this device. Nothing will be written to browser storage.

Filename and date reference

Backup Activity Record

This is a reference list only. It stores filenames and activity dates—not active backup files. Your actual encrypted backup files remain wherever you chose to save them, such as Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, iCloud Drive, an external drive, or your computer’s files folder.
