Learn Before You Decide™
Financial Readiness Foundations™
Understand the financial decisions ahead before they become sources of confusion, conflict, or unnecessary stress.
Why We Created This Foundation
Many couples begin separation believing they are largely on the same page. As conversations become more detailed—about property, debt, housing, businesses, income, and future plans—they may discover they were never discussing the same issues in the same way. Financial Readiness Foundations™ was created to help people understand those concepts before misunderstandings become unnecessary sources of conflict.
Good intentions are not always the same as shared understanding.
People do not need to agree on every issue in order to benefit from education. Sometimes the most important first step is simply recognizing what each person believes, what remains unclear, and which questions deserve professional guidance.
Our goal is not to tell you what decisions to make. Our goal is to help you understand the decisions before you make them.
Your Learning Path
Four guided lessons
Move through the lessons in order. Each lesson builds on the previous one and prepares you for more informed conversations about the financial side of separation and divorce.
Understanding Your Date of Separation™
Learn why the date of separation may matter, why moving out is not always the same as establishing a legal date, and why building an accurate timeline can be important.
Begin Lesson 1 →Financial Responsibility After Separation™
Explore the difference between who is using an asset, who is paying an expense, who is obligated to a creditor, and how responsibility may ultimately be addressed.
Preview Lesson 2 →Business Ownership, Income & Operating Capital™
Understand why money in a business account is not automatically the same as personal income, and why revenue, working capital, profit, compensation, liabilities, and business value are different concepts.
Preview Lesson 3 →Major Financial Decisions During Separation™
Learn why buying another home, refinancing, taking on debt, moving money, changing insurance, or making major business decisions may deserve careful review before action.
Preview Lesson 4 →What You Can Expect
Financial Readiness Foundations™ is designed as practical education—not legal, accounting, tax, or financial advice.
Your Compass Starting Point™
You do not need to become a legal or financial expert. You need enough understanding to recognize the issues, organize the facts, ask better questions, and know when qualified professional guidance may be important.
