The Rebuilding Compass™

Self-guided preparation for later-life divorce

Silver Divorce Platform™

Build a clearer picture of your finances, your future living costs, and the questions you need answered before making important decisions.

Later-life divorce can involve a home, decades of savings, retirement income, insurance, and responsibilities to other family members. This workspace is designed to help you organize those pieces at your own pace and prepare for productive conversations with qualified professionals.

The planned package is fully self-guided. Coaching and personalized email advice are not included.

Prepare around the questions that matter to you

You do not need every statement or every answer to begin. Start with what you have, identify what is missing, and build your information one topic at a time.

What do I have—and what do I owe?

Organize cash, financial accounts, property, retirement balances, business interests, and debts. Keep available cash separate from home equity and other resources that may be harder to access.

What could my monthly life cost?

Bring income, housing payments, debt payments, insurance, and living costs into one view. Compare your current situation with clearly labeled future assumptions.

What needs a closer retirement review?

Gather pension, retirement-account, survivor-benefit, Social Security, and retirement division questions. Prepare plan information for the appropriate specialist.

What should I ask before moving forward?

Make missing, estimated, uncertain, and disputed information visible. Build focused questions and document lists for your professional meetings.

A guided path you can complete independently

  1. Start with your situation. Identify your priorities, dates, responsibilities, and available documents.
  2. Build your financial picture. Work through assets, debts, retirement, benefits, insurance, housing, business interests, taxes, and estate questions.
  3. Compare possible futures. Explore up to three user-defined scenarios, including housing choices, proposed asset divisions, and income changes. Assumptions and incomplete information stay visible.
  4. Prepare for professional meetings. Assemble the relevant financial information, questions, and document references into a printable review package.
  5. Track your next steps. Record follow-up tasks, responsibilities, user-entered deadlines, and evidence of completion. Create a backup to protect your work.

Bring organized information to your next meeting

The planned Silver Financial & Professional Summary™ brings your entered information together: assets, debts, available cash, retirement resources, monthly costs, scenario assumptions, and unresolved items.

Select the sections relevant to an attorney, mediator, CPA, financial professional, or retirement-order specialist. Your package will identify what you reported, where estimates came from, and what still needs review.

You can prepare a partial package. Missing information is a useful part of the conversation. You do not need to present an artificially complete picture.

Before you begin

Do I need to be retired to use this?

No. The workspace is designed for people approaching retirement, already retired, or navigating divorce with long-term financial and family responsibilities. There is no required age or marriage length to use the preparation tools.

What if I do not know the amounts or do not have the documents?

Enter what you know and mark estimates, unknowns, and disagreements honestly. The planned checklist and review pages help you record what to request and whom to ask. An unknown amount will not be treated as zero.

Will someone review my answers or advise me by email?

No. This is a self-guided preparation workspace. Coaching, personal document review, and individual email advice are not included. Built-in instructions and examples help you complete the work. Bring questions about your decisions to the appropriate qualified professional.

Does the platform replace professional advice?

The platform provides educational organization and user-directed comparisons. It does not provide legal, tax, financial, investment, Social Security, medical, actuarial, or QDRO advice. It does not determine benefit eligibility, value a pension, draft a retirement order, prepare court filings, or certify that a proposal is fair or affordable.

A summary records information for review. It is not a legal agreement, court order, professional financial plan, or guarantee of an outcome.

Where will my working information be saved?

The planned workspace saves your working answers locally in the browser profile on the device you use. Mediation & Mitigation Solutions and The Rebuilding Compass do not centrally receive or store those working answers.

Membership and payment records are separate from your working answers. Signing in on another device—or using the same Chrome account—does not automatically move your work. Browser-site data can be lost if cleared; private browsing is unsuitable for keeping ongoing work.

The planned encrypted backup integration lets you save a file in a location you choose and restore it using the Silver-compatible Backup & Restore page. Keep the backup password safe; The Rebuilding Compass cannot recover it.

Can I use this on my phone or during a professional meeting?

Pages are being designed for phones, tablets, and computers. Larger screens may be more comfortable for detailed financial entry. The summary will support a meeting view and browser printing or saving as PDF.

For another device, restore a supported backup first. To share selected information with a professional, use a review package rather than sharing your member login. Review the package before sharing it.
