Book a Coaching Session
Use this page to schedule a focused one-on-one session. We’ll use your real situation, your DIY tools, and plain-English conversation to map out your next steps — without pushing you into expensive litigation.
When It Makes Sense to Book Coaching
Good reasons to schedule a session:
- You feel stuck, overwhelmed, or pulled into constant arguments.
- You’re not sure what to do next in your California divorce process.
- You want help turning “emotional chaos” into calm, clear written plans.
- You’d like a neutral third party to help you think through parenting, money, or offers.
This page is not for emergencies:
- Immediate safety concerns or domestic violence emergencies.
- Situations where you need urgent legal advice about your rights.
- Criminal matters, CPS investigations, or urgent custody crises.
In those situations, please contact a licensed attorney, legal aid, or a domestic violence hotline right away.
How a Coaching Session Works
-
Step 1 – Fill out the short intake form.
You tell me a little about your case, your goals, and what you’re most worried about right now. -
Step 2 – Pick a time that works for you.
You’ll select a date and time (phone or Zoom). If nothing fits, you can mention that in the notes and we’ll follow up. -
Step 3 – We meet for about 60 minutes.
We focus on your most urgent concerns and leave you with 2–3 clear action steps you can take after the call. -
Step 4 – You keep using your DIY tools.
After the session, you continue working in your DIY Divorce Resource Center and update your plans, forms, and proposals based on what we discussed.
What to Have Ready (If You Can)
You don’t have to be perfectly organized before you book. But to get the most out of your session, it helps if you have:
- Your basic case information (county, case number if assigned, any upcoming court dates).
- A rough idea of your income, your spouse’s income, and major assets/debts.
- Any parenting schedule ideas, concerns, or problems you want to discuss.
- Recent emails/texts or court paperwork that are stressing you out (you can describe them; you don’t have to share everything).
If you’re already using the DIY Divorce Resource Center, you can also reference your Binder Summary and other worksheets during the call.
