DIY Divorce Coaching
Book a DIY Divorce Coaching Session
This page is for individuals who are handling their divorce as much as possible on their own, but want structured, one-on-one support. We’ll use your real situation, your Binder, and your DIY tools to turn confusion into clear next steps—without pushing you toward unnecessary or expensive litigation.
Is DIY Divorce Coaching Right for You?
Good reasons to schedule a coaching session:
- You feel stuck, overwhelmed, or pulled into constant arguments about money, parenting, or “who gets what.”
- You’re not sure what to do next in your California divorce process as a self-represented party.
- You want help turning emotional chaos into calm, written plans, proposals, or checklists.
- You’d like a neutral, experienced third party to help you think through options before you commit.
This page is not for emergencies:
- Immediate safety concerns or domestic violence emergencies.
- Situations where you need urgent legal advice about your rights or court strategy.
- Criminal matters, CPS investigations, or urgent custody crises.
In those situations, please contact a licensed attorney, legal aid, or a domestic violence hotline right away.
How a DIY Divorce Coaching Session Works
-
Step 1 – Complete the intake questions.
You share a brief overview of your situation, your goals, and what you’re most worried about right now. -
Step 2 – Pick a time that works for you.
You’ll select a date and time (phone or Zoom). If none of the available times work, you can tell us in the notes and we’ll follow up with alternatives. -
Step 3 – We meet for about 60 minutes.
We focus on your most urgent concerns—forms, proposals, communication, strategy—and leave you with 2–3 clear action steps to take after the call. -
Step 4 – You update your DIY tools.
After the session, you keep working in your DIY Divorce Hub, calculators, and Binder so your case stays organized and on track.
What to Have Ready (If You Can)
You don’t have to be perfectly organized before you book. But to get the most out of your session, it helps if you have:
- Your basic case information (county, case number if assigned, and any upcoming court dates).
- A rough idea of your income, the other party’s income, and major assets and debts.
- Any parenting schedule ideas, concerns, or problems you want to talk through.
- Recent emails, texts, or court paperwork that are stressing you out (you can describe them—you don’t have to upload everything).
If you’re already using the DIY Divorce Hub or your Build Your Binder tools, you can refer to those during the call so we can work from the same page.
